Stepping Into Narnia?

Perhaps you wonder why I am asking such a silly question? Well, let me give you a bit of history before I tell you :-)

When Disney's version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe came out a couple of years ago, I was struck by how much my Brenna resembled Lucy. At the time, Brenna was maybe 2 1/2 or 3 years old and even then she looked like her.

Fast forward to now...a darling 4 year old with long hair. Everytime we watch the movie, I still feel that Brenna looks like her. Now, we get to Saturday....and I am finding Brenna with her over grown bangs falling into her face. I've asked her many times over the last few months if she'd like me to cut them, but she refuses! So on Saturday I asked her if she would like mommy to cut her hair to look like....Lucy. She looked at me with a happy little smile and said, yes!

Now, don't get me wrong...I love her long hair, but the bangs were out of control and so I thought if I cut the hair just a little longer than the bangs, it would grow out all one length. We could start fresh. Thankfully, the idea of looking like Lucy was good incentive for her.

So, yesterday, I sat her down with her long tresses...

And began to cut her hair(mind you, this was my first time ever cutting one of my kids hair)...

Now, you all tell me....doesn't she look a little like Lucy?

These two, above are Brenna.

This is Lucy in Narnia.
Either way, I think she looks so adorable with her hair cut short and I am certain she is quite pleased. But don't tell her she looks like Lucy....right now, she's a penguin!
Blessings,
Sommer

VERY Lucy like! :) Growing up, my momma always cut my hair. I think the first time someone else did, I was 17 years old!

Oh, how sweet! And yes, she does look like Lucy!
I'll never forget the first time we got our hair cut- traumatic! We were about 12 or so and our hair was down past our hips! Well, it got whacked off up to below our chins! I guess mom didn't want to plait our hair anymore in pigtails!
I am glad for Brenna that her first haircut was a lovely experience! She's adorable!

She does look like Lucy. And you did a great job cutting her hair, especially being the first time. I cut all my children's hair. I began when my oldest son was 2. After 15yrs. of cutting hair I've gotten pretty good. But now that my kids are teens they like crazy hair styles and so they have friends cut and dye(I will not dye it..I hate chemicals!)it...still coming to me to cut it too. My daughter Holly had the 'Lucy' cut when she was 4 until about 6. I loved it!

Oh, my Sommer! She looks very much like Lucy! A lovely child indeed.

Isn't it funny how we moms must be creative to direct our children?!

She is sreally a lovely child! Speaking of hair and creativity, my son and I have an agreement. He reads 20 minutes daily (He loves it once he starts, but has trouble sitting still!) until Halloween, and I will color my hair green and keep it that way for 2 days! He's all about the reading now. LOL

Wow. Our daughter really DOES look like Lucy! May I grow my hair out to look like Aslan?
