My Daybook

FOR TODAY~ March 16, 2010

Outside my window...There is a sweet, hanging nest on the tree in front of my kitchen window. I've enjoyed watching it shake as the birds flit in and out :-)

I am thinking...That Rowan has another tooth coming in. I love her toothy smile!

I am thankful for...The freedom to gather and discuss politics, the role of government, and to gather with fellow believers.

From the learning rooms...KIDS: Pilgrims, Reptiles, skip counting by fives! MOM: learning Spanish with my new language program and new sewing skills thanks to sewing forum friends :-)

From the kitchen...I think we are going out to dinner tonight.

I am wearing...khaki pants, salmon sweater with 3/4 length sleeves and pretty little clip.

I am creating...I am planning how to re-do a dress for my daughter, Brenna. I have the fabric washed and now I just need to iron it and cut out the pattern pieces out.

I am going...to the realtor's office tonight to put some offers on homes we are interested in. If any of the offers are accepted then we will go up and look more closely at the house(s) and decide if we really want it. Lots of prayers going up from here!

I am reading...The Sacred and Profane History of the World and Biblical Principles of Government study guide and I may have to start reading L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables.

I am hoping...That at least one of the homes we offer on will work out...we are especially drawn to one.

I am hearing...my children planning how to catch a fly...they've already caught one and a spider too!

Around the house...School and laundry folding.

One of my favorite things...Learning new things.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Celebrating my hubby's birthday and our 12th anniversary!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

New Addition to the Poetry Corner

As Spring is fast approaching, I thought it would be nice to update my Poetry Corner. While enjoying one of my poetry books, English Poems(selected and edited by Walter C. Bronson-Professor of English Lit., Brown University, 1915 printing and originally published in 1908), I came across some poems by William Blake. I especially liked The Echoing Green. I thought it fitting to the season and so, I am sharing it here for you all. Please enjoy this month's addition of the Poetry Corner..which you can find on my sidebar to the right :-)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I find that poetry can often be food for the soul and it is something that I find very lovely to read. After feeling a bit gloomy off and on the last few days, this poem lifted my spirits. I do so hope you enjoy it!

Blessings,
Sommer

Outside my window...Quite a lovely, spring-like California day. It is chilly right now, but it ought to be pleasant as the day wears on.

I am thankful for...a husband that is willing to take on the evening routine with our 4 children so that I can attend the class above :-)

It's March...

I've amazingly missed a whole month. I just didn't have much to say.

In the last month and a half or so....my eldest daughter turned 10, my little man turned 3 and life just bustles on. Where has the time gone?

We also have found that the home we put an offer on and have been patiently waiting on(this was a horrible shortsale), is not the home the Lord wants us in. The second bank on the seller's side wanted a large amount of money more...and well, we can't do that! So, back to the drawing board we go. When you pray..God answers...even if not the way you had hoped.

This is also my 300th post! And I was going to do a give away...but I can't after all. So I just want to say thanks to those that have read my intermittent posts. I appreciate all of you and have been very blessed by the friendships I've made :-)

As always, I hope to post more often, but can't promise;-) Life just flows along and sometimes I just don't know how to put it in words. But, I do so love writing here and will continue even if sporadically.

And just because you all are so patient with me and maybe you want to see the latest pic of my sweet girlie...the pic above is of Miss Rowan at 10 months. She is still such a joy and lives up to her middle name's meaning(Meara)..."mirthful". She is one of the most jolly little ladies I know :-)

I pray you all have a fabulous week!

Blessings,
Sommer
