A Little Note To My Readers

My dearest friends and readers, I wanted to stop by and just say thank you for all your comments and sweet words! I don't often get a chance to return the comments in my comment section, but I do feel ever so grateful for all of you.
It is so encouraging and uplifting to read your words of kindness. Thank you so much!
I pray that each of you have a wonderful weekend and Lord's Day!
Blessings,

Precious Baby-scented Curls

There isn't anything sweeter than the slightly hot, sweet scent of a baby with fluffy curls. Even after chasing Liam from one end of the room to the other and snatching him from the same "no-no" location about a hundred times in 10 minutes...I find him to be the most adorable, loving boy ever!

Look at those curls!

Such fluffy, snuggly goodness! Such a wealth of comfort when nuzzled up against my cheek!

I know...these aren't the greatest shots of his face(and he is a cutie!), but I thought the curls were so very sweetly dashing:-D Thanks for letting a momma gloat on her dear boy!

"I kiss you and kiss you,

With arms round my own,

Ah, how shall I miss you,

When, dear, you have grown."

~William Butler Yeats

Sweet Melody

I was just over visiting at Little Jenny Wren's and she shared this lovely video of sweet bluegrass. Perhaps this isn't everyone's cup of tea...but there is something so sweet and warm about it. Thanks to Jewels and Jenny for sharing it:-)

Enjoy!!

Finally....

It is done!

After a year and a half(yep, you heard right!) of procrastination and unfortunate delays...the purple and silver star nightgown is finished!

I can't believe it took me this long just to complete a sewing project. When I started it, I had grand ideas. I intended on making Fiona this little nightie and then do other sewing projects. But, I got pregnant, busy and just plain lazy! The other problem is I decided (and now I know it was sort of crazy) to sew it completely by hand. And once I started it, I didn't want to change it mid stream...so, yes, this is completely hand sewn.

I used Simplicity 5382 view B. I actually really like the pattern. I may make something for Brenna next.

Here is Fiona modeling her new nightgown:

She is very pleased with it. I, on the other hand, am a little disappointed with how it turned out. Obviously, had I not procrastinated, the length would have been better and also the fit in the shoulders and arm would be more comfortable. I also some how miss aligned the yoke and shoulder seems...urgggh! Well, the little princess is pleased and that is what matters most to me:-)

Here is a close up of the ribbon on the yoke, the yoke and little sleeve. I also have a pretty little pearly, flower button on the back from my stash that Fiona picked, but, alas, it was too blurry to post.

Well, now that I have this completed, I will start on the little bloomers for Liam. I would have a week or so ago(like I'd planned)but things got too busy. Tonight, I will pin the pattern pieces to the fabric and cut them out:-) Hopefully, I have beat the procrastination beast!

Blessings,

Sommer

My Daybook

Peggy, over at The Simple Woman has been sharing her Daybook and has invited folks to join in. So, I decided I couldn’t pass up the fun! Wont you join us? Just pop on over to Peggy’s blog for the details!

For April 21st

Outside My Window…
The wind is blowing but the sun is shining…it is spring after all.

I am thinking…
That my hubby’s work schedule is CRAZY!

I am thankful for…
The sunshine and for the green on the hills.

From the kitchen…
I’ll be cooking some chicken up for Chicken Alfredo and noodles for tomorrow.

I am creating…
A nightgown(almost finished!), rompers and bloomers.

I am going…
To Costco and home again, home again…jiggity jig!

I am wearing…
Blue jeans and a wine tee with a black cardigan. My hair is pulled up on either side with my silver clips.

I am reading…
The Horse: A Miscellany of Equine Knowledge
and
Using Your Money Wisely

I am hoping…
To finish my dear, eldest daughter’s nightgown today!

I am hearing…
Brenna hum..so sweetly.

Around the house…
Needing to declutter some more, do laundry.

One of my favorite things…
Is listening to Celtic Woman with my children.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Continue decluttering the house, grocery shopping, lessons and then Friday, my parents are coming over for dinner, yeah!!!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing…

This little lady is a very happy girl after a brutal cleaning of her tank this weekend. She is quite happy:-)
