Feeling Drained and Overwhelmed

As I draw nearer my date for delivering this sweet bundle that grows within me, I find myself feeling desperately unable to finish what is needed to make ready for her. I have sadly been delinquent in my household duties of declutter and organizing before being pregnant. And in the first few months I was feeling sick and now I am constantly feeling tired and too big to maneuver! I get winded just with a short burst of exertion. So I find the feeling of being overwhelmed, well, overwhelming!

I have about 6 weeks to go and I have been unable to get down to business in organizing/decluttering my kids' room so that we can put a bunk bed in(which we really must have for this to work!). There room is a mess and I am just not sure where to start.

And this last month or so has been full of doctor appointments for sick kiddos, pregnant mommas and many errands that just keep popping up. This week is no exception. So, I guess I'm having a pitty party :-p Sorry! I will now, restrain myself and try to focus on the good:-)

We have had much needed rain off and on for about 3 weeks now and the foothills look gorgeous! I've been seeing signs of Spring...cherry blossoms and other lovely flowers on trees. Also the daffodils are blooming. I just love daffodils! Such bright and simple flowers!

This month is my hubby's birthday(on St. Patrick's day at that!) and our anniversary will come the day after the "first day of Spring"! Perhaps if I remind myself of these beautiful and lovely blessings, I will be able to perk up and find some much needed energy:-)

I hope everyone is having a good start to their March!

Blessings,
Sommer

Sommer, I'm sorry it's been so rough lately! Perhaps you'll have a nesting surge! When you're nesting, there is no such thing as tiredness--or at least, that's how it was when I was pregnant with Anya!

Daffodils are so lovely. Every spring, I go crazy over every one I see.

Sommer,

I'll be praying that the Lord will give you the energy to do what you need to do, and the peace to relax and enjoy these last few weeks!

I can only imagine how beautiful your part of California is in the spring!

Yours in Christ,
Shannon

Dear Sommer, I am so sorry you been feeling so overwhelmed. I think I can sympathize though. . .I felt the same in the last weeks of my pregnancy with Malachi, it didn't help I was supposed to be on bed rest and such for a part of that time! :(

I'll be praying for you! I wish so much I could help you out with what you need to get done. But just think of the little one that will so soon be here! She won't care if the house is disorganized or if the laundry is put away. All she will want is the soft arms of her mama to cuddle down into and the secure feeling of being with those she loves.

Take care!!!

Hi Sommer,

I think that all the feelings that you're having right now are VERY normal for the stage of pregnancy you are at. You are doing the best you can with what you have at the moment. Don’t be too hard on yourself. ;)

My fourth pregnancy was the only difficult one. My body was just tired after carrying 3 babies, nursing, etc. by the fourth my body was drained. But you will make it dearie...just do what you can and rest when your body is telling you to. A happy home in a mess, is better than an unhappy home that is spotless...you will have plenty of days in the future when your kids are all grown to have the house all clean and cute. I see that the baby's name is Rowan...she is my favorite in LOTR.

Hello! I dropped by from Gina. You have a very sweet blog!

You are SO blessed to be carrying your fourth child! That is already SO MUCH work in itself. Add 3 other blessings to nurture to that and you've got your hands full to put it mildly. Don't worry if your chores seem overwhelming. I know the 'need' to de-clutter, but don't be too demanding on yourself!

God bless you
-Isabel

Dear Heart,

I know there is much to be done these next few weeks. May God bless you with strength to get done what is needed and to let go of what isn't. I pray you will have nice weather and can sit a spell outside to soak up that sunshine!

Dear Sommer, cut yourself some slack and don't be so hard on yourself. Almost all of us have been right where you are. My fourth baby was the time that I also felt the most overwhelmed. I used to wonder "What's wrong with me that I can't get things organized and clean?" The hardest time when raising a large family is when they are all little and there are no older children to help. By the time I had my 5th and 6th children, the older two girls were able to help me so much with the housework and the babies that it became much easier. This is just a season, Sommer dear, and things will get easier. By the time my forth was a few months old, he was easier and happier, and I was feeling much healthier and things began to get under control. Just do what you absolutely have to and don't pressure yourself too much. Can your dear husband help you on the weekend with rearranging that bedroom? I wish I lived near enough to help you but you will be in my prayers. My daughter, Kathy, lived in Florida during her 4th pregnancy and I live in Pennsylvania so I wasn't able to be there for her, and she is sick the entire 9 months. She was able to hire a 13 year old girl from her church to come help her for 2 hours after school. It didn't cost her a lot and was another pair of hands. Even once a week could be a big help if you could find someone like that. Ask the Lord to help you to see what things are a priority and what things you can let go. He'll help you.

Love and blessings,

Mary

Thank you so much dear friends for your prayers and encouragement! I can already feel that they are helping in that I am able to feel more relaxed and realize that some things can wait:-)

Mary~
Thank you for your thoughts. I have considered a "mother's helper", but I'm really not sure who would be ideal in my situation right now. My hubby works weekends and at night, so he is sleeping in the mid afternoon and early evenings. However, I deal with the declutter issues(and get my kids to help)and the things that need moving and adjustment I will get him to do. Thanks for stopping in and sharing your experience! Hope you are well!

Kerrie and Isabel~
Thanks so much for visiting and for your thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you here again:-)

Lots of love,
Sommer
