A Trip to the Beach

Last Wednesday we took a much looked-forward-to trip to the beach. Dan has this day off most of the time and his second job(at a school) has come to a close...so we had the WHOLE day off! The kids have been counting down the days:-)

After doing a little research, and deciding we needed to go somewhere with tide pools..we decided on Bean Hollow State Beach .

What a beautiful little spot! Quiet, small and lovely :-)

Here are a few highlights from our outing.

(Liam's first intro to the ocean)

(The tide pools)

(Brenna enjoying the sand)

(Fiona conquering the stone mountain..she loved that :-))

(Beautiful little succulent plants growing out of the rock. These had pretty little purple flowers.)

It was a lovely time and I hope we will make it out there again this summer. The weather was cool, but comfortable. Dan did more with the kids than I, since I had a sweet baby girl wrapped against me. And amazingly...no pics of her and I!

I hope that all of you are enjoying your summer. We are having mildly hot weather...and yes, I complain about it ;-) I much prefer cool weather.

We also are hoping to start looking for a home somewhere in the area. The prices are down enough, that we can afford a home in some areas. Please pray for us as we embark on this adventure if you feel so led.

Have a lovely day,
Sommer

It looks like you had a lovely time! I like Fiona's own "View from the Mountain!"

I'm complaining about the cold rain here in New England. It's slightly justified though, since I believe the weathermen said it has rained all but two days in June!

Looks like fun! I'll have to add Bean Hollow to my list of places to visit for when we're in the area. I'll be praying for your house hunt! That's very exciting!

Gorgeous pictures!!! They make me sooo homesick (for the other coast - I was born in R.I. and miss the beaches so much) It looks like you all had a wonderful time!

I much prefer cooler weather too. We have been in the top 80's and mid 90's here lately, with high humidity. Bleh. At least I can count on the promise of the Lord that as long as the earth endures all the seasons shall not fail - cooler autumn follows summer!

How exciting!!! I will pray that the Lord will lead you to the perfect house. I can't wait til David and I are in that position. We have a dear little rental home right now but when the boys get a bit bigger it will be too small for us all. It's exciting to look forward to how God will lead you in this!

I remember going to the beaches of Oregon with my little grandbabies. Oh, how the toddler loved the sand!

Your picture of the little plants growing out of the big strong rock made me think of us, as little children of our Heavenly Father. He is our rock; He is there for us to help us grow and to flourish even amongst the elements that be.

Have a blessed day, Sommer.
