The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
~Psalm 23 (ESV)

Today I stayed home from church with Liam since he is still a little under the weather. It isn't so much that he is miserable, but that his little nose is runny and he is sneezing..so, we have been home this morning.
So, instead of listening to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ singing and hearing our pastor's sermon, I've been listening to the Christian music station on the internet (we have lousy radio reception in our place).
Some of the music I don't enjoy...but some is so very lovely and encouraging.
This verse above is one that was a favorite of my Grandma Gloria and it was said at her funeral. It is also a favorite of mine. So I thought I'd share it with you all today.
May the Lord bless you this day!
Blessings,
Sommer

Hi Sommer,
I too missed Church today, but mine was due to laziness. So, I turned on the BYU channel and listened to talks there. It makes me feel a bit better when I've not started the Sabbath the way I should.
Have a blessed week. :)
Sommer,
I hope Liam is feeling better. I'm not much of a radio listener either. My children keep raving about Pandora's radio online. I'm not exactly sure but I think you can make up a playlist of sorts and they just play the music you like. I should check it out too.
I don't think I'll get to the homeschooling book list today as I am having trouble staying awake. I shouldn't have stayed up so late last night but it was time spent with my daughter. I do have a few special things I will email you (hopefully tomorrow-ish) to see if you'd like.

Hi Sommer ;) Thank you for sharing. That passage is very dear to me. Whenever my mother, who was very ill as I grew up, this passage was what she held onto. God used it in a big way in her life, and it dribbled down to me ;) I pray Liam is feeling better!
tender hugs!
Dear Sommer,
I also love Psalm 23 and have recited it to myself many a time at night, before I go to sleep! Thanks for sharing!
Returning to read your encouraging post again.
I hope you and your family are warm and cozy and healthy!!
